Today did not involve any painting. I did however had a fairly busy day.
This morning was Erin's School Leader investiture ceremony. It was quite good. I liked Laurence Springborg's speech. I found it quite inspiring and it sort of followed on from some of the things that I heard from a motivational speaker a few weeks ago which was good.
Then it was off for coffee with Karyn, who is the bestest best friend in the world :) It was nice to catch up as we haven't been able to for a while.
Then in the evening we had Puppy Preschool and Sammy graduated! She managed to wee on the floor half way through her test which was just fabulous. Each of the puppies won a free hydrobath so that is pretty exciting.

Day Three
Today was another productive day :) Another sleep in, I have to admit I am enjoying those, and then into the painting.
The most exciting bit of today was when I got a phone call from the AWESOME Kaleb from the hardware store who not only had the base required, but was selling it out at a discounted price! So we have purple people! What was also great was that it cost $25 for 2 litres. I found that pretty exciting as well.
The cup cupboard got it's second coat of green and is looking pretty good. I think it will need a third which I will do tomorrow.
The kitchen hutch got the final coat of purple on the doors.
The sink cupboard got a first coat of green and of purple and has come up pretty well. I was not sure if I was actually going to bother with this cupboard as it is falling apart and we would like to get a new one, however the budget isn't going to allow for that so I slapped some paint on it for a stop gap.
I also got a load of washing done. It is raining so I am not sure how I am going to go with the washing, however I am giving myself an amnesty on not using the dryer as I need to get it all caught up.
I also went to the gym and did a weigh and chat with my coach as well as a workout. It went pretty well seeing I hadn't been in nearly a week. I also acted as Mums Taxi for the girls.
There are no photos of today as I forgot to take them while there was still light out. I will take plenty tomorrow.

Day two, part two
The painting has continued on.
The cup cupboard has a first coat of green.
The kitchen hutch now has another coat of green which for the most part should be it's final coat. A little bit of a touch-up on one side will be needed.
Tomorrow will be exciting when I get to put a second coat on the cup cupboard and go on a hunt for purple paint.
And yes, I do have paint in my hair!

DayTwo
After a big sleep in I got started by putting on a load of washing, amazing but true. The laundry and I are not friends and I am aiming to improve our relationship this week.
The next job was to start on the wall cupboard which was taken down when we first moved in. Here it is in all its glory.
After a scrub and some undercoat it is looking a bit better already.

Day One
It was with great anticipation this morning that Tally, Caitie and I set off this morning to buy some paint. Our first stop was at Maccas where our favourite barrister, Erin, made us some scrumptious coffees and was titled Tally's "official coffee bitch".
Next stop was to one of the hardware stores. The guy tinting the paint seemed to be little overwhelmed with a rather large order so asked us if we had something else to do. We wandered off and bought a pack of rollers, brushes and trays from Crazies and returned to wait. After sipping coffee, mmmmmmmmmmm coffee, and chatting with the people who's order was being tinted, (no Andrew, I will not carry your huge buckets of paint for you!) it was finally our turn. After a very close call of me handing over the wrong colour card and realizing at the last second, the first tin of paint was tinted. I couldn't get the green in gloss as they didn't have the right base, so semi-gloss it is. No problems, I can work with that.
Then it is time to get the purple. "Nope, can't do that one. It needs a deep base and I don't have that." "Ok, how about semi-gloss" "Nope only have white in 1 litre" "OK, how about 2 litre?" (See, I am flexible and can adapt to change, no problems at all. Just ignore the symptoms of stress I am displaying now) "Nope, don't have it in 2 litres either. Have you looked to see if there is another paint which is a similar colour?" Lets note at this stage that this isn't as simple as choosing a new colour as the kitchen cupboards are half painted, and have been that way for just a little amount of time, like since last Easter. Of course due to the way that my life is filled with fantastic luck and fortune, no other paint company makes a colour anything like this awesome purple. So what is the solution to this problem? Well it is simple. The guy orders in more base for me. And how long will that take? Oh around 3 - 5 days. 3 - 5 days of my one week off work to paint the kitchen. There are times when I just love living in a country town. So now the guy has taken my colour card and has written on the back of it what I want as he won't be there next week and is going to have to ask someone else to order it.
Does anyone want to place a bet on the likelihood of the paint not being ordered and the colour card being lost thereby ensuring that I have no way of matching the colour. I agree, I think that this has a fairly high probability factor.
Anyway, behold: the amazing green paint, the very cool kit from Crazies and the not yet obtained purple.
Let me just say finally, that when I tried to add this picture, it was upside down. Yes, it has been one of those days.

Welcome to my holiday blog where you can check out what I am doing on my nine days off. Expect to be entertained and glued to your seat with anticipation as I finish painting the kitchen and ,gasp, clean the house. Not everyone is as lucky as you..... not everyone gets to have an insight into my incredibly successful and wonderful life. Get comfy, sit back, and enjoy the ride! Oh actually, those of you at work who said keep me updated- you don't get to sit back, you have to do some work!
